Bruder EXP-8 Is the Ultimate Off-Road Camper Trailer for Overlanding – MotorTrend

Developed and built in Australia, Bruder trailers are designed and engineered to travel in extreme conditions and offer home-like amenities infused with luxury and innovation. The company, founded by lifelong exploration brothers Dan and Toby, introduced its first trailer, the EXP-6, in 2016 and is now launching an all-new flagship model.

Journey anywhere, roomiest, and best-equipped model yet, the EXP-8 is an off-grid camper trailer powered by solar energy and rated for all seasons. Made for traveling in remote parts of the world, the self-sustaining EXP-8 operates on a 1,600-watt solar system and uses a 13-kWh battery pack. Ahead of the trailer’s official debut in October, as reported by New Atlas, Bruder has released images and details about its new flagship EXP-8.

The EXP-8 camper trailer rides on 18-inch wheels wrapped in 37-inch all-terrain tires and uses an air suspension with eight mono-tube remote-canister shock absorbers. It has an airtight chassis, and the well-built composite body comes fully insulated in closed-cell foam, providing maximum strength and durability. And when traveling during the winter season, the reinforced roof is engineered to handle lots of snow and is always ready for a heavy snowfall battle.

The catalog of items that contribute to operations includes a 350-liter drinking water tank, pressurized air filtration, LED lighting, air conditioning, a filtered water system, and a diesel heating and hot water system. The EXP-8 comes equipped with a 5,000-watt inverter, an electric vehicle charger, a touchscreen power management system, and an electronically controlled 177.0-inch side awning. Internal and external AC and DC power outlets, in addition to USB ports and 12-volt outlets, help you stay plugged in.

Enter the off-grid camper trailer, and you will step on stain and water-resistant marine-grade flooring. Uncork a bottle of wine from the 12-bottle holder, grab a seat in the dining lounge, and turn up the music on the sound system to set the mood. And when that’s over, restore yourself with a relaxing shower and head straight for the queen bed to catch some Zs.

Rugged on the outside and elegant inside, the EXP-8 features a dual-burner induction cooktop, a stainless steel sink, a sizeable countertop for food preparation, and a wealth of cabinet storage space. The large double-layered window above the cooktop, featuring built-in blinds and insect mesh, allows the sunlight to pour in on a warm summer afternoon. An L-shaped sofa, a slide-out table, a 188-liter fridge/freezer, under-bed storage, four-zone lighting, and fans are standard amenities.

Based in Australia, Bruder expedition trailers are available to order worldwide. The EXP-8 off-road camper trailer has a starting price of AU $241,500, which is around $177,000 in America. At an additional cost, Bruder also offers interior and exterior custom options. Stay tuned for an update after the October reveal should we receive more pertinent information, including photography and footage of the EXP-8 in the wild.
